SMARTEC SA is a leading developer, producer and distributor of structural health monitoring systems which set standards for quality, ease of use and durability.
We fully support our customers in the design, installation and use of our systems, as well as in the management and analysis of the resulting data.
Our product range consists of sensors (fiber optic, GPS and conventional), data acquisition systems and software for data management and analysis.
Our domains of expertise cover civil & geotechnical engineering, structural engineering, oil&gas industry and energy distribution.

Commercial Strategy

SMARTEC SA commercializes its own products, solutions and services as well as products and services of its partners through worldwide network of exclusive distributors and certified solution providers. Currently the distribution network spans more than 20 countries.

History and profile

SMARTEC SA was founded in 1996 as a startup, resulting from the development of the SOFO monitoring system at Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne (EPFL).
In 2000 the company became official distributor of DiTeSt system, DiTemp system and 3DeMoN system. In 2001 SMARTEC SA in-sourced the production of SOFO sensors in its own facility in Manno and enlarged its offering of engineering, support and training services. In 2005 the MuST product line, based on fiber Bragg gratings was introduced.
In 2006 SMARTEC was acquired by the Roctest group, a world leader manufacturer of instrumentation used in civil engineering, geotechnical and industrial applications.
Today SMARTEC employs 20 people organized in 4 departments: Administration, Sales, Solution and Services and Production. A young team, multicultural environment, quality-oriented process management and excellent working conditions have led to SMARTEC's open minded, creative and successful corporate culture.
More than half of SMARTEC's staff holds a university degree and 3 have a Ph.D. You can communicate with SMARTEC in Italian, English, French, German, Spanish, Arabian.
The quality of SMARTEC's products and experience of SMARTEC's engineers reflects through more than 500 monitoring projects in 30 countries on all continents.
