GeoStructures: Colombo pier

Case study: SOFO System

Pier monitoring Beams deformation

Project Description

Summary: Installation of 24 SOFO sensors on the main beams of the pier

Clients: Genoa Harbor Authority

Place: Genoa (Italy)

Period: 2003  - N/A

Installation: Tecniter srl

Structure's short description: The structure is a pier in Genoa harbor for the docking of large ships. The main structural deck consists of five U-shaped pre-fabricated beams

Aim of monitoring: Thanks to the measurements obtained with the SOFO system, it'll be possible to follow the behaviour of the structure when boats dock at the pier

Number of sensor: 24

Main Results: N/A
