GeoStructures: ITM/SOIL Piles Dynamic testingCase study: SOFO SystemStatnamic Test
Project DescriptionSummary: Pilot tests on 2 concrete piles. SOFO Dynamic reading unit is used to perform both statnamic and dynamic tests. Clients: ITM Place: Chattenden, Medway, UK (UK) Period: 2007 - 2007 Installation: ITM Structure's short description: 2 concrete piles. Length of the pile = 12m. 4 SOFO embedded sensors installed on each pile. Aim of monitoring: The aim of this project, collaboration with ITM, is to validate the gogdness of SOFO Dynamic system for concrete pile monitoring. At the moment tests on concrete pile are performed using traditional sensors such as accelerometer and theodolite to measure vertical displacements of the piles. First target of this project is to demonstrate that using optical fiber is a more suitable way to perform pile monitoring to be able to develop SOFO Dynamic system on the market of civil engineering.
