GeoStructures: Infraspeed Slab Movements

Case study: MuSt System

High speed railway monitoring
2D relative displacements monitoring of concrete slabs

Project Description

Summary: Lateral and vertical displacement monitoring of railway concrete slabs using MuST Crackmeter 2D sensors

Clients: Inventec b.v.

Place: (The Netherlands)

Period: 2006  - 2007

Installation: Inventec b.v.

Structure's short description: Highspeed railway tracks are installed on ~6m long concrete slabs. The sensors are installed on the joints between two slabs.

Aim of monitoring: The main aim of the project is to monitor relative movement between concrete railway slabs. Measurement in the lateral and vertical directions are periodically performed with a required accuracy in both directions of 0.05 mm.

Number of sensor: 134
