GeoStructures: Landslide La FrasseCase study: 3DeMon SystemLandslide monitoring
Project DescriptionSummary: Landslide continuous monitoring using 3DeMoN-ROBOVEC and geodetic prisms. Clients: EPFL Place: Le S?ey, VD (Switzerland) Period: 2005 - N/A Installation: EPFL / SMARTEC Structure's short description: The "La Frasse" landslide is located the Vaud canton, Switzerland, not far from the city of Lausanne. A total of 11 points (9 on the landslide plus 2 reference points outside the sliding area) were equipped with a geodetic prism and are measured every hour. The PC managing the ROBOVEC was equipped with a WiFi / GPRS / EDGE card, allowing a real-time remote access to the measurements. A direct connection to the 220 VAC power supply is available on-site. Aim of monitoring: The main aim of the project is to track and monitor the normal and known sliding behaviour of the slope, as well as to detect eventual reactivations of the landslide. Number of sensor: 1 Main Results: Continuous measurement using 3DeMoN-ROBOVEC allowed detecting and tracking the last important reactivation of the landslide during sommer 2007.
