Energy: MAEVA MockupCase study: SOFO SystemConfinement wall monitoring
Project DescriptionSummary: Monitoring of the confinement wall of a nuclear power plant mock-up Clients: EDF Place: Civaux (France) Period: 1997 - N/A Installation: IMAC-EPFL / EDF Structure's short description: The MAEVA project consists in the testing of a 1/2 scale model of the concrete confinement wall of a nuclear power plant. The concrete cylinder is loaded by injecting high temperature and high pressure steam inside it. Aim of monitoring: The SOFO sensors were imbedded in the concrete wall or and mounted on the external surface of the cylinder to measure deformations and crack openings during the tests. Number of sensor: 20 Main Results: The SOFO sensors survived the high temperatures (180?C) and could measure the deformations during different runs of the tests. Bibliography: N/A
