Laboratory Testing: Shaking table test

Case study: SOFO System

Dynamic strain monitoring
Modal Analysis
Damange detection
Shaking table testing

Project Description

Summary: Modal analysis and damage detection on a metallic frame subject to earthquake simulation

Clients: University of Pavia

Place: University of Pavia (Italy)

Period: 2003  - 2004

Installation: SMARTEC

Structure's short description: Metallic frame

Aim of monitoring: Use of the SOFO Dynamic system to acquire modal parameter and detect strain introduced to the frame culumns

Number of sensor: 4

Main Results: The change in dynamic strai allowed the detection of very small damages that did not create any variation of the dynamic response and were tehrefore not identified by accellerometers

Deatil of the tested frame
